Why Is It Difficult to Do A Large-size VA LCD Display, And What Problems Are Prone to Occur?

Why is it difficult to do a large-size VA LCD Display, and what problems are prone to occur? Sinocrystal would like to make a briefly explain to help you:

VA LCD display is a kind of black and white Mono Display. The difference between it and TN, HTN, STN and other black and white screens lies in the following points:

  1. The liquid crystal used in the VA LCD display is negative liquid crystal, and other black and white screens use positive liquid crystal
  2. The box thickness of VA LCD display is the smallest, generally 3.5um, other products will not be less than 5.8um
  3. The PI used in the VA LCD display is not used with other LCD screens.

What are its features and advantages:

  1. Ultra-wide viewing angle, it is called a full viewing angle, which means that no matter you look at it from any angle, the display content is relatively clear.
  2. High contrast, because its blackness is very black, coupled with a high-brightness white backlight, the effect shown is very high contrast, and the black and white are clearly distinguished.
  3. It can easily realize the color display function, and the effect is particularly beautiful, as shown in the following figure:

Although the VA LCD display has many of the above advantages, due to its late start, the development time is short, and there are still immature problems in the process. The early price is relatively high, and the market is relatively slow. In three years, the process is quite mature, the competition has increased, and the price has dropped. Part of it is also due to the market’s recognition, the improvement of the process, and the increase of the yield rate, which forces the company to reduce the product price. In 2020, most of the domestic LCD production Enterprises can produce small-sized VA LCD screens, but few can produce large-sized VA LCD screens. The reasons for this analysis are as follows:

  1. The larger the size of the product, the more problems there will be. In addition, it is a VA product, which is more prone to problems, because both the process and the equipment are not very mature.
  2. The larger the product, the more content displayed, the longer the wiring, and the resistance value of the equipment is not easy to control.
  3. The larger the product, the greater the deviation in all aspects, such as: polarizer angle
  4. The larger the product, the higher the requirement for ITO flatness.
  5. The larger the product, the higher the requirements for powder spraying, box adjustment and other processes.
