This module is also a kind of dot matrix module, which is characterized by continuous arrangement of dot matrix pixels and no space between rows and columns in the arrangement. The row and column driven This is a must external dedicated controller module, the module only equipped with universal row, column, drive, this drive is actually only for general driver output side of pixels, while input is generally only four of the following data input, shift signal input end, latch input end, the ac signal input end, etc., such as HD44100, IID66100, etc. This kind of module must be connected with external control circuit, such as HD61830, SEDl330 and so on to connect with the computer. This type of module is the most numerous and most common. Although a custom controller is required, it also gives the customer the freedom to choose a different controller.

The column driver used by this kind of module has I/O bus data interface, which can directly hang the module on the bus of the computer without special controller, so it is beneficial to reduce the cost of the whole system.
